Yesterday I went to robotics. As we had finished the robot, we did the programming. When we reached there, the students were still fixing their robot. Our instructor Mr Wee asked a boy to teach us how to program. His name is Kai Xing. He is secondary 3 or 4 I can't remember. Some of his friends called him happy because in Chinese his name was happy. He taught me how to program. He taught as if he was an expert. Now I know how to program the robot. First you must put in the start and end sign. We programed the robot to start the engines first then we programed it to turn as we need to make the robot turn in the competition next week lastly we set the rotation sensors to program the robot to stop after 500 turns. The maximum is 2000-3000.
After we had finished programming, we tested our robot and it did not work well because instead of moving in front, it moved sideways. Kai Xing suspect that the light sensors were not working well so he programmed the light sensors to shine 48%. But it still did not work. We tried lots of times but it did not work so another secondery 1 boy helped us do. But in the end he got mixed up. When it was time to leave, our robot was still not working. So we had to do it next time anyway we had a whale of time.

Today Yi you, Yuan Qi , Aaron, Benny and I was awarded two certificates on the stage as we got 6th in the power point project. Before I went up to collect my certificates, I had butterflies in my stomach. After we had recited our pledge, it was prize presentation. First, they called out Aaron then Yi You and it was my turn. I muttered to myself, " Never mind just relax and follow the instructions." When I got the certificate from Mr Fahmi, I did not feel nervous anymore, instead I enjoyed it. The first certificate was gold in colour. the second certificate was white in colour. It was the best time I ever had in my life! Before I got the certificate, I also need to attend Teacher's Day rehearsal. I was the pianist playing the song Memory. The piano was rather hard and didn't have much sound. So they put the micro-phone into the piano. The sound boomed across the whole hall. Some of the parent volunteers were very fierce. I saw them scolding some pupils very loudly. In the end, the rehearsal was a success. We were relieved when the rehearsal ended as we all had a hard time. But overall I still enjoyed it.
At the robotics session, we completed the robot after many trials and errors. The girls' robot was in a chaotic condition. At first their robot did not run smoothly and they kept fixing the wheels until they found out the they put the gears at the wrong side.
At the same day I was a little sick. Two of my classmates were also sick. I suspect that they had fever as their faces were all red. Now I am still a little sick. My temprature is now at 38 celsius. Despite my fever, I had a wonderful day.

When I closed my eyes, I saw Mozart conducting a symphony to the king and queen and other rich people. All of a sudden, two angels flew down and carried Mozart to heaven. The king and queen were so green with envy that they bad-mouthed Mozart as they wanted to take Mozart's place to go to heaven. But the angels refused to put Mozart down because they too wanted to listen to his music.Just then Beethoven came out thinking that it was his turn to perform. As he was about to bow, he saw his teacher being carried away by the angels. He shouted, "Hey leave my teacher alone!"
Mozart saw his student shouting for the angels to let go of him so he pinched one of the angels hand. The angel yelped in pain and released him. Mozart landed on the kings seat and the king ordered his guards to arrest Mozart. But the guards were scared that they would offend the angels so they did not arrest Mozart. To Mozart's advantage, he ordered the guards to arrest the king and queen. Immediately, the guards arrested them and sent them to the deepest dungeon. Mozart crowned himself as the king. He ordered his solders to built him a musical palace where he could practice his music. Soon the villagers called him the music king as they will always hear him playing all sorts of instruments.
One day he summoned J.A Bach, the son of the composer J.S Bach. He wanted him to play the violin for him. When J.A Bach played the melancholic music piece, Mozart was so touched by the music that he could not eat for days. One day Mozart became gravely ill. He was so ill that he could not get out of bed. One morning, J.A Bach came and played an enchanting melody. Immediately Mozart felt better. He thought very highly of J.A bach that he made him his palace musician and then...... I opened my eyes, everything I saw disappear. I thought to myself, "Wow what an incredible dream!!!I wish it was real!".

Today I went to Admiralty Secondary School for robotics study. I could hardly wait to get there! When we got there, the pupils kept looking at us. I felt embarrassed. Our instructor is Mr Wee. He was a funny man. He told us that one robot could cost us 400 dollars if we broke it. It is so expensive! I marvelled at all the robots made by the students. We learned about the light sensors, the rotation sensors and the touch sensors. They where very interesting. The touch sensors will see whether you are going to fall off. The rotation sensors will help rotate the robot and the light sensors will shine different kinds of light. I started building a robot with Joel, Jian Yuan and Hao Ming. We had gone through lots and lots of hassles. Joel couldn't put the gears together, so we tried to fix it together. At last we all managed to get the gears together. Next, we fixed one of the gears into the wrong part. Jian Yuan managed to get the gear fixed. That gear was one of the most important gears. Without it, the whole robot will malfunction. The girls did really fast, but will their robot really work? Well it depends on whether they did it properly. When we were almost finished, it was time to go back to school. Our heart sank as we were reluctant to go back to school. I think this CCA is very interesting. If you have the chance to join robotics, please join in or else you will regret for your whole life(just exaggerating)posted by Yew Weng at

Today, my broadband can be activated. Actually, we have gone through a lot of hassles while fixing the broadband. After we fixed the modem, we tried to connect to the Internet but we could not login to the Internet. My mother called the service centre, they said they had forgotten to register our line, how careless they were! The next day, my mother tried to connect to the Internet. Again, it could not work. She called the service centre but they kept transferring calls. My mother even went down to Causeway Point personally to get things done. The amicable staff apologised to us and immediately take action. At last our broadband can be activated. I was cock-a-hoop as I can use it more often. I promised my mother to write blogs more often in order to improve my typing.posted by Yew Weng at

My hobbies are playing computer and reading. The games I play in the computer are all online. Usually I will play online with Ryan Kueh and Aaron. For example, New Kingdoms and Neopets. Between the two, I prefer New Kingdoms to Neopets because it is a strategy game and I like brain storming games. Now I will talk about my second hobby.....reading. My favourite books are Secret Seven series. The author is Enid Blyton. Secret Seven are all about mystery and adventure. The Boxcar Children series, written by Gertude Chandler Warner, are also my favourites. My mother borrowed the books from the national library. I started reading them since last year. I remembered that my mother said to me that the storybook was very thrilling, so I read the book. I was soon engrossed in reading the Boxcar Children. Another author I would like to introduce to you is Beverly Cleary. One day my teacher gave us a DARE card and a list of books. One of the books was Ramona and her mother. At first, I thought the book was rather boring and girlish. But as the story plot moved further, I was so enthusiastic that I couldn't take my eyes off the book. Beverly Cleary has also written numerous exciting titles such as, Henry Huggins, Ramona Forever, Henry and Ribsy, so on and so forth..

Yesterday, my sister borrowed a book about Chinese chess. Now I know how to play a bit of Chinese chess. My father bought a set of weiqi. It is the same origin of the Chinese chess. Last night I played Weiqi with my sister. It was very mind cracking. We had a tie of 48-48. My sister thought she could win me but she could not believe her eyes that we had a tie. Ha Ha Ha! Sean of 3F is a good player at English chess. When Miss Jenny Teo did not come, he played chess with Aaron. In the end, Aaron lost because Sean plays chess with strategy. I hope to play with him. My friend, Leong Gen is currently studying at Raffles Institution. He is a good chess player and he has a classmate who is a national chess player.posted by Yew Weng at
